Last week I fought the heat, humidity, and nasty thunderstorms in Columbus, Ohio, to sell my books at the Columbus Book Festival. I thoroughly enjoyed networking, meeting new readers, and hanging out with other book lovers.

Being a vendor at these type of events (whether indoors or outdoors) is always an exhausting set of days involving travel (in this case, we traveled 7 hours to Columbus and 7 hours back), hauling books in boxes, setting up the books and displays, being “on” for hours at a time as you greet attendees, and then packing everything back up, and hauling it all home.

I do this for lots of reasons, but it’s one of the main ways I can meet readers and sell my books. It makes me uncomfortable to put myself out there (I’d much rather write books than sell them…lol), but meeting kind folks who support indie authors is always a highlight for me.

So, thank you to all of you who have supported me and other indie authors. We do this for all of you.

Hugs,

Janice
